Jet Fuel Oxidation Tester-D3241
Capabilities Calibration of the JFTOT is critical to the proper operation of the instrument. How often should the instrument be calibrated? If your instrument is critical to your company's certification of jet fuel, then calibration should be done at least 1 to 2 times per year with verification done more frequently. All models come with a way to verify the thermocouples read out through the use of ice, tin and lead eutectic points, however this is not a complete calibration it is a verification. There are other factors that effect the test such as flow rate and pressure according to a recent study done by the J-8 sub committee at the December 2002 meeting. These values are set at the factory but may drift as the instrument ages and are not addressed with a simple thermocouple calibration. When was the last time you had your JFTOT checked to verify it still complies to the original factory specifications and ASTM D3241? Have you checked the tuberator and standard? What would it cost your company in dollars and reputation to have a shipment refused due to being off specification? Probably many times more than the cost of a visit. Send us an email to get a quote or schedule a visit. StanCo Scientific, Inc. uses the same equipment and procedures as the factory to recertify your JFTOT to the same values as it had when it left the factory. After certification you are given a certificate that details the current status of your JFTOT and if it is in specification or not. Certification Pricing**
